On September 28 and October 15, 2009, the Department of Public Instruction received a complaint under state and federal special education law from XXXXX against the Milwaukee Public Schools. This is the departments decision regarding that complaint. The issues are addressed below.
On January 20, 2005, the Department of Public Instruction received a complaint under state and federal special education law from XXXXX against the Milwaukee Public Schools. This is the department's decision regarding that complaint. The issues are whether the district, during the 2004-2005 school year, improperly excluded a student from school and properly changed the student's special education placement.
On October 12, 2007, the Department of Public Instruction received a complaint under state and federal special education law from XXXXX against the Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS). The issue is whether the district provided a child with a disability a free appropriate public education (FAPE) between September 4 and October 12, 2007, when home and hospital services were discontinued.
