DPI Public Records Requests

Enter the information below to submit a public records request to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).

Are you looking for a copy of your Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED)? Instructions for making those requests can be found on the department’s website. Requests for copies of GEDs or HSEDs submitted through the form below will neither be acknowledged nor fulfilled.

Are you looking for transcripts or other education records (for example, IEPs, diplomas) related to your attendance at one or more Wisconsin school districts? DPI does not maintain such records. A public records request for those records should be submitted to the individual school district(s).

In accordance with Wisconsin’s Public Records Law, DPI processes public records requests in the order in which they are received and “as soon as practicable and without delay.”
