Confirming Updates to WISEdash Public and Release of Final Joint Federal Notifications

Thursday, March 23, 2023

Dear District Administrators,

The WISEdash Public Portal is now updated with certified data from both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 school years. Additionally, joint federal notification packets (JFN) have been updated in SAFE.

Many of the updates to the WISEdash Public Portal represent significant efforts by you and your colleagues to provide accurate data to DPI through the December WISEdata snapshot. Thank you for all your efforts. You will find a list of new data and dashboards on the WISEdash Public Portal landing page.

You will find the WISEdash Public Portal updated with these data and dashboards:

  • Enrollment (2022-23), including Learning Modality
  • Graduation Rate (2021-22)
  • Attendance (with absenteeism graphs) (2021-22)
  • Dropout Rate (2021-22)
  • Discipline (2021-22)
  • AP Exams (2021-22)
  • ACT Graduates (2021-22)
  • Graduation Requirements (2022-23)
  • Career and Technical Education (2021-22)
  • ESSA School-Level Expenditure data (2021-22)

Final JFN packets are available in SAFE today. To access your district’s packet, go to SAFE. If you need help accessing the system, please visit the SAFE landing page or complete a Help Ticket. The joint federal notification packet includes:

  • ESSA Accountability Reports
  • ESSA Progress to Exit Reports for schools with 2018-19 ESSA identifications. Updated Progress to Exit Reports with additional exit criterion data will be available for these schools in June 2023.
  • IDEA LEA Determinations
  • New: IDEA Racial Equity in Special Education Reports, which are available for each district and include identifications and required actions, if any, for districts identified with racial disproportionality in special education identification, discipline, and/or placement
  • District Summary Report

You can find more information on 2021-22 ESSA accountability on the ESSA Accountability webpage and information about LEA Determinations for IDEA in the Special Education District Profiles.

Because this information is now considered final and will be available to the public, you may share information regarding your ESSA and IDEA identifications. We encourage you to review all reports, regardless of identification status.

Please note that LEA Determinations Reports and Racial Equity in Special Education Reports should not be shared with the public, as they are not redacted and could contain contextually personally identifiable information.

As I said in December, we stand ready to assist you in the work of ensuring every student graduates college and career ready. As we have heard from you in the technical assistance calls, these federal identifications are indeed an opportunity to better understand your school’s and district’s performance, and to continue to improve outcomes for each and every student.

For questions about the WISEdash Public Portal, please open a Help Ticket. These About the Data pages are also a great way to learn more about data in WISEdash.

Sincerely,

John W. Johnson, PhD
Deputy State Superintendent
