High School: AI Safety Video Challenge -- NEW DUE DATE DECEMBER 31, 2024

Contest: Ask students (individually or in groups)( to create a short video (2-3 minutes) that highlights the importance of online safety and the ethical use of AI. They can use animation, live-action, or a mix of both.

Output: The video must be able to be uploaded to this form. This could be in any format chosen by the educator or student.

Why it works: This allows high school students to delve deeper into the topic and use their technical skills to produce a polished final product. It also encourages teamwork and collaboration if done in groups.

AI Safety Video Challenge Rubric

The rubric below provides the criteria that will be used to evaluate submissions for the AI Safety Video Challenge. Each criterion is rated on a scale from 1 to 3, with 1 being the lowest score and 3 being the highest. The total possible score is 15 points.

The image is a rubric table used to assess video projects, with six criteria: Content Accuracy, Creativity and Engagement, Technical Quality, Clarity and Coherence, Teamwork and Collaboration (if applicable), and Upload Format. Each criterion has four performance levels: 3 - Exemplary, 2 - Proficient, 1 - Developing, and 0 - Incomplete.

All winning AI Safety Videos will be featured on DPI's Keeping Kids Safe Online website for the duration of the school year!
