Welcome to Extra Credit, our newest ConnectEd recurring feature! In each issue, we’ll spotlight training resources to help you stay centered in your practice and help you dream big and develop new skills.

Coaching Competency Practice Profile

Description
These interactive modules help break down each competency through stories and examples from real life coaching situations -- written by your Wisconsin coaching friends and colleagues.

What to Expect

  • Modules are connected but not linear -- you can jump in wherever it feels right for you!
  • Coaching self-assessment will help you set goals and show you where to start your training.
  • Resources include a Coach’s Kit full of resources and tools and a Virtual Journal for keeping track of your progress, reflections, and highlighting important ideas.
  • Time: Each module takes around 10-15 minutes to complete

About the Presenter
Rachel Fregien, Consultant – Coaching Supports

Rachel has been an education consultant on the special education team at the DPI since 2016. Starting out as coordinator for the State Personnel Development Grant, she quickly focused on the importance of coaching as an essential element of professional learning. Rachel is now the director of the Inclusive Learning Communities Discretionary Grant, which supports districts across Wisconsin in implementing inclusive and equitable educational environments to accelerate outcomes for students with IEPs and students of color. Her work has supported the development and growth of resources and supports for educational coaching with an equity lens.
