Greater Madison Writing Project Announces High School Summer Programs

The Greater Madison Writing Project (GMWP) at University of Wisconsin – Madison (UW) is an affiliate of National Writing Project (NWP) network, a nationally acclaimed professional learning community that puts educators’ knowledge, experience and voices at its center. GMWP offers both professional development for educators as well as enrichment opportunities for children and young adult writers. 

Summer is a great time to encourage high school students to follow their passions. Do you have students you think might benefit from summer writing enrichment? Click on the programs listed below and pass along this information!

Rise Up and Write
A youth advocacy writing summer camp for high school students. Rise Up & Write provides youth with the opportunity to use writing as a way to raise awareness and create change.

High School Writing Camp
A four-day camp for high school writers that supports a creative and engaging writing experience. Engage in the writing process, meet guest writers, and contribute a group anthology! Camp ends with a celebration of writing for family and friends.

Youth Press Corps
Do you find yourself curious about the news and what role it plays in our society? What role do journalists play in presenting that news? Whether you want to become a journalist or you crave understanding of the legitimacy of the news presented to you, this fun camp is for you.
