Teaching About the 2018 Elections

Drawing from the best and most current information, the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Education is hosting a conference called Teaching About the 2018 Elections: Preparing Students for Political Engagement.

The conference will be held September 22nd in Grainger Hall on the UW-Madison campus. K-12 educators and administrators are encouraged to attend. Participants will learn how to teach about electoral politics in an engaging manner that welcomes and respects all points of view, helping to prepare students for current and future political engagement.

According to UW-Madison’s Education and Outreach Partnerships site, educators will:

  • learn about important election-related issues

  • receive training in effective learning strategies

  • be introduced to national civic education programs and their curricula

This conference is being offered at a low cost which includes registration, meals, digital materials and high-quality classroom curriculum.
