Governor Tony Evers approved the establishment of a Cybersecurity Subcommittee under the State of Wisconsin Homeland Security Council. Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Director of Instructional Services, Dr. Annette Smith was appointed to the subcommittee.
The Cybersecurity Subcommittee, announced last month, is made up of 10 members from the state, including education, emergency management, elections commission, tribal, and business representation. According to a letter from the State of Wisconsin Homeland Security Council, among other things, the Cybersecurity Subcommittee is tasked with:

Coordinating and integrating efforts for cybersecurity protection

Identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating the state’s cyber risk

Developing plans to better identify, respond to, and recover from cyber attacks

Making cybersecurity recommendations

Sharing information among stakeholders

Recommending education and training programs to bolster the cybersecurity workforce
