Wisconsin School Counselor Association Fall Summit

Monday, September 25, 2017

The Wisconsin School Counselor Association (WSCA) 8th Annual Fall Summit is Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Fall Summit provides attendees the opportunity to learn more about two important topics in the field of school counseling.

Session A: “Resiliency: Promoting Mental Health in the Schools”

A day-long workshop designed to help school systems understand their role in promoting student mental health resiliency. The workshop will show participants how to integrate prior learning on the development of responsive school systems into everyday interactions with students.

Session B: “Practical Application of the ASCA Mindsets and Behaviors to Your Existing School Counseling Program.”

This session will utilize the ASCA model to describe the knowledge, skills, and attitudes students need to achieve academic success, college and career readiness, and social and emotional development. The session will help participants use the standards to assess student growth and development, guide the development of strategies and activities, and create a program that helps students achieve their highest potential.
