Background
To better serve Wisconsin's eleven federally recognized American Indian nations and their tribal communities, the department has begun negotiating memorandum of understanding (MOU) agreements with each sovereign nation. The agreements, designed like contracts between state agencies, seek to establish relationships around critical areas that impact the education of American Indian students.
