Conference Focus
 

  • All conference attendees will
    • understand the basics of the education subtitle of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, including determining McKinney-Vento eligibility for students experiencing homelessness.
    • learn strategies for spending their remaining American Rescue Plan-Homeless Children and Youth (ARP-HCY) funds strategically.
    • hear from youth with lived expertise about how to improve supports for the education and well-being of students experiencing homelessness.
    • learn more about supporting immigrant students - including refugee, asylee, and migrant students - experiencing homelessness.
  • New homeless liaisons will become more familiar with their duties as established in statute and strategies and tools for implementing their role effectively.
  • Veteran homeless liaisons will have the opportunity to improve their understanding and implementation of advanced homeless education topics.
  • All conference attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive activities to seek responses to remaining questions and solidify key conference takeaways.

Who Should Attend?

Staff directly supporting students experiencing homelessness, including homeless liaisons, student services, early childhood and other support staff, administration, etc. It will be especially beneficial for new homeless liaisons!
