First Annual Wisconsin Science Week to be Celebrated Oct 10-16

Monday, October 3, 2022

October 10-16, 2022 will be the inaugural Wisconsin Science Week, as proclaimed by State Superintendent for Public Instruction, Dr. Jill Underly, and Governor Tony Evers. These proclamations coincide with the Wisconsin Science Festival. Events are taking place all over the state, and it's great to encourage your students to attend.

DNR Secretary Preston Cole will be speaking at the Wisconsin Science Festival on Thursday October 13th at 7pm at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery on the UW- Madison campus.

If there isn't a Wisconsin Science Week event near you, there's still time to create an event in your community. If planning is a little tight, it’s a great time to start thinking about what your school and community can do to mark Wisconsin Science Week next year! We'll pass along planning ideas in another ConnectEd piece leading up to the 2023-24 school year. We are also encouraging educators to consider supporting students in locally-connected water science as part of our Statewide Inquiry Experience. For more resources and events geared towards teachers, check out the Wisconsin Science Festival web site.
