Teacher Appreciation Week 2017

Do the teachers in your life feel empowered to lead?

May 8 - 12 kicks off Teacher Appreciation Week. As we celebrate the work of our teachers, it’s hard not to see all the ways that Wisconsin teachers are leading, everyday. Whether it be in their community, in their profession, or even within their school, our teachers are looking beyond a single classroom or group of students.

In his Teacher Appreciation Week message, State Superintendent Tony Evers highlights ways that teachers are leading our students in developing leadership qualities like, innovation, creativity, reflection, communication, collaboration. When these qualities are applied outside a single classroom, everyone benefits.

Teachers all across the state take the charge in leading through examples for our kids. So, during this week, please take the time to show our teachers how much we value their leadership - today and always.
