AN ACT to create 118.33 (1) (a) 1. f. of the statutes; relating to: requiring one-half credit of personal financial literacy for high school graduation.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
Section 1. 118.33 (1) (a) 1. f. of the statues is created to read:
At least 0.5 credit of personal financial literacy that includes financial mindset, education and employment, money management, saving and investing, credit and debt, and risk management and insurance.
Section 2. Initial applicability.
(1) This act first applies to pupils graduating from high school in 2028.
The new graduation requirement for one-half credit of personal financial literacy (PFL) goes into effect with the class of 2028, next year's freshman class. DPI has released a PFL FAQ to answer the most frequently asked questions.
