The Wisconsin School District Fiscal Year Spans July 1 to June 30
Most school district budgeting and accounting activities are cyclical in nature (that is, they occur each year in the same order and within the same general time frame). However, because pre- and post-fiscal year activities will require your attention for more than 12 months, you could feasibly be working on three fiscal years at the same time.
For instance, in December you might be answering DPI follow-up questions on the previous-year's Annual Report, submitting the new year's Budget Report and possibly gathering enrollment projections for a "first look" at next year's Revenue Limit. Plus, when you are new to a finance job, it seems like every activity requires LOTS of background research to even start to get an idea of what you need to be doing (let alone actually doing it).

The 2018-19 Multitasker Planning Calendar is a 12-month summary chart of the main reports and activities that occur throughout the school year (July - June).
Detailed Planning Calendars (updated May 2018)
The 12 monthly Word documents below expand upon the Multitasker, dividing activities into segments containing crucial resource information. Each month retains the three-column format from the 12-month multitasker above (prior, current and next fiscal year) but also includes general overall descriptions to explain what needs to be accomplished with a certain activity. Note that while each district has its own way of doing business and these monthly calendars may not be exactly similar to a district's specific needs, they do provide a general idea of what happens when.
