Summer 2024 Virtual Trainings

The Department will be holding virtual trainings for the Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP) for the 2024-25 school year in the summer of 2024.

Student Eligibility & Program Overview Training
Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm

 

Part 1: Application & Transfer Request Requirements (11:30 am - 2:30 pm)

Who: All new SNSP Administrators and designees are strongly encouraged to attend. Additionally, continuing SNSP administrators or designees that would like a refresher on the application requirements are also encouraged to attend.

  • Gain an understanding of the 2024-25 SNSP application and student transfer requirements.
  • Review sample SNSP applications and transfer request forms. This will help participants understand the student eligibility review process.

Part 2: Other SNSP Requirements (2:30 - 4:00 pm)

Who: All SNSP administrators and designees (both new and continuing in the SNSP) are strongly encouraged to attend.

  • Discuss the SNSP surety bond and permitted changes to the number of SNSP scholarships available. Describe how grade and scholarship changes are made in the Portal.
  • Provide information about the requirements for SNSP students that are continuing to participate in the SNSP, including reevaluation requirements.
  • Explain the seclusion and restraint requirements.
  • Describe the agreement of services requirements.

SNSP Payment Process, Financial & Enrollment Audits Training
Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm

  • Describe the payment process, including the SNSP actual cost payment option.
  • Describe the criminal background check requirements.
  • Describe the enrollment audit requirements.
  • Learn about the SNSP financial audit requirements. All SNSP participants must annually provide a financial audit by October 15 following each school year.
