An event that’s like a 7-person TED Talk, plus 16 national speakers and an evening barn concert are among the highlights of a national education conference taking place in Madison this weekend, December 2-4.
The National Conference on Student Activities (NCSA) is put on annually by the National Association of Workshop Directors (NAWD). The conference brings together professionals from many fields relating to student leadership and activities.
This year’s gathering is hosted by the Wisconsin Association of Student Councils (WASC).
On Friday, December 2, at 12:30 p.m., an event called “Fast Forward” features “seven of the nation's top youth speakers, sharing their #1 insight, framed with a story, and told in twelve minutes or less.” Fast Forward is presented by Bob Tryanski and Harriet Turk in conjunction with WASC, NAWD, and the National Association of State Student Council Executive Directors.
The conference’s complete schedule lists the keynotes, breakout sessions, and special events.
A discounted rate of $150 for Saturday, December 3, is available for Wisconsin participants and anyone hailing from within 150 miles of the venue. Otherwise, there is a package deal of $370 for the entire weekend. Graduate credit is offered for attendance.
