Districts or Consortia receiving more than $30,000

If the district or consortia allocation is over $30,000, an application in WISEgrants must adhere to the following funding breakdown:

  • At least 20 percent of funds for activities to support well-rounded educational opportunities;
  • At least 20 percent of funds for activities to support safe and healthy students; and
  • A portion of funds for activities to support effective use of technology (no more than 15% can be used for infrastructure)

A comprehensive needs assessment aligned with the allowable activities is also required. A comprehensive needs assessment must include, at a minimum, a focus on the three content areas identified above. Additional recommendations about conducting a needs assessment are located in the "Implementing Effective SSAE Program Activities" section of the SSAE Non-Regulatory Guidance booklet which starts on page 15.
