DoD Fresh Produce Program

Overview

The DoD Fresh Produce Program is a partnership between the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and the USDA. The goal is to increase the availability and supply of fresh fruits and vegetables to School Food Authorities (SFAs) participating in the USDA Foods Program through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).

Participating SFAs allocate a portion of their USDA Foods entitlement dollars to the DoD Program during the WI USDA Foods Annual Order Survey. The ordering and distribution of allocated entitlement dollars is then coordinated through the DoD Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Ordering System (FFAVORS).
