It has been an amazing summer of professional development experiences and contributions from Wisconsin teachers to our statewide open education resource portal "WISELearn." Listed below are a few major highlights that will make a difference for educators as they prepare curriculum and lesson plans for the upcoming school year.
- A state agreement with MBAResearch vastly expanded access to CTE instructors to over 200 WISELearn resources associated with the six areas of the Wisconsin Common Career Technical Standards along with academic standards for business and marketing education. Educators may view a June 2018 recorded webinar to learn more about how to utilize these resources and other resources available for all educators through the MBAResearch State's Connection and Learning Center systems. WISELearn resources were specifically targeted to promote utilization in the following areas:
- Economics
- Employability Skills
- Entrepreneurship
- Ethical Leadership
- Finance
- Financial Literacy
- Information Technology
- Management
- Marketing
- Professional Development
- Project Management
- Work-Based Learning
- The MBA Research and Curriculum Center has crosswalked the Wisconsin Business and Information Technology standards and the Wisconsin Common Career Technical Standards with its own National Standards for Business Administration giving educators full alignment of all available resources. To access this crosswalk, download the document found in the Resource Library in WISELearn.
- Additionally, we have surpassed 1000 resources that are now affiliated with Business & Information Technology when you select Career and Technical Education from the WISELearn homepage.
- Over 200 resources are specifically aligned with our Wisconsin Standards for Business and Information Technology when you search by academic standards.
- Wisconsin Standards for Personal Financial Literacy have also recently been added to the portal with contributions by Lauretta Pickel, Angela Strick, Kristie Gill, and Stacy Peterson. Thank you to these educators for starting the process of aligning resources to these essential academic standards and we look forward to a growing list of contributions from educators throughout the year as they reference over 400 finance related resources that are currently searchable by keyword "finance" and connected to the Finance Collection Resources in WISELearn.
