2018-19 Financial Literacy Innovation Grant (deadline June 1, 2018)

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (DFI), along with the Governor’s Council on Financial Literacy and Capability has created a fund for the purpose of promoting innovation in the teaching of personal financial literacy (PFL) in the classroom. Funds are being awarded through a competitive grant program to schools, partnering with communities, to support the implementation of the Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for Personal Financial Literacy in order to improve financial literacy among youth. Funds provide an opportunity to help teachers bring new and creative programs and events into the classrooms or implement the adoption of a PFL graduation requirement in Wisconsin schools as a means to enhance the teaching and learning of financial literacy.

To be considered for this grant, eligible applicants must submit a completed application by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018. Grant awards are limited to one per school (up to $5,000); however, a district may be granted a maximum of three individual grants or apply for up to three times that total allowable grant dollars ($15,000) for a single grant that impacts multiple school, an entire district, or a consortium of schools or districts.  The total statewide funds available are $100,000.  Application instructions can be found on the Personal Financial Literacy Grant webpage.
