Business & Information Technology Education Connects Students With Industry Recognized Credentials

The technical incentive grant claims for 2018 graduates is due September 30, 2018.   The annual grant funds provide up to $1000 per student to school districts.  The approved 2018 Certifications List, documentation requirements and  are available on the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Career & Technical Education Incentive Grant website.  Additional details such as information regarding how to submit claims was sent to all district administrators and building principals on August 30.   

An updated list of revised certifications for the Class of 2019 Graduates has been posted.  The Department of Workforce Development is accepting recommendations by application to add new certifications to the Class of 2020 Graduates list through February 1, 2019.

A complete list of 2017 graduate data with Breakouts by Certification and Funding Breakout by District detail how support was directed to 6,773 claims from 307 districts.  

While we continue to showcase a significant increase in the number of students and schools who are actively striving to mitigate workforce shortages in identified industries and occupations, we also recognize local success stories such as Sun Prairie High School Graduate Jason Benda who took home the Microsoft Excel National Champion title on June 20, 2018 after beating out 147 finalists and 350,000 competitors. Jason continued on to compete at the Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship this past summer with finalists from 50 countries.  This local news story captures the essence of what Jason's success means for both his own personal journey and they support from the Sun Prairie School District.
