Rigorous, Integrated Content


Teachers base instructional content on Common Core State Standards in mathematics and English Language Arts. As much as possible, concepts are integrated between all academic areas. Teachers purposefully create and facilitate connections between academic content strands with high expectations for each student. Teachers meet students where they are and bridge them to where they need to be.



Teachers at Jeremiah Curtin Leadership Academy and Kennedy Elementary School integrate reading and writing with science and social studies standards. Struggling students have multiple opportunities to be exposed to the content, academic vocabulary, and various points of view.
