2024 Racial Disproportionality Institute: Strategies and Workshops on Addressing Racial Equity in Special Education

Event Description

The institute will feature workshops and sessions aimed at addressing racial disproportionality, engaging in root cause analysis, adopting evidence-based improvement strategies, an overview of WISEgrants, and implementing Comprehensive Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CCEIS). Additionally, LEAs will benefit from work sessions designed to assist in developing their Racial Disproportionality Planning Tool. A main focus of the institute is for Wisconsin educators to learn and develop strategies to improve outcomes for students of color.

Target Audience

Attendance is by invitation only for LEAs with significant racial disproportionality identifications. LEAs are strongly encouraged to bring a small team (3-5). Possible team members include district and school administrators, special education director, C&I director, eMLSS coordinator, DEI director, and community members.
