Event Description

Water is Life Conference

The Native American Center at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point seeks to host a UW Native Nations Conference - Water is Life. Our Dream starter Youth, Sheniah Reed, a University of Wisconsin system student, hopes to invite organizations and individuals from Indigenous communities and schools as well Natural Resource, Sustainability and Environmental Justice organizations from across the 26 University of Wisconsin System campuses and their respective faculty/staff and departments.

The reason for the conference is to bring everyone together to elevate Indigenous knowledge and worldviews as the mental/emotional/spiritual framework that can help solve the many complex issues we all face. The conference will end with a call to action to come together and conceptualize solutions. With a commitment to create a group to continue to have conferences and meetings to build these plans into actions.
