Individual Student Enrollment System (ISES) Training

DATE: January 5, 2005
TO: All WSLS/ISES Administrators
FROM: Richard Grobschmidt, Assistant State Superintendent,
Division for Libraries, Technology, and Community Learning
Brian Wilmot, Chief Information Officer
SUBJECT: Individual Student Enrollment System (ISES) Training

As the local WSLS/ISES administrator, you are the main point of contact with DPI regarding local implementation and maintenance of the Individual Student Enrollment System. Please plan on attending one of the ISES training sessions. Also include the staff person who will actually be submitting the ISES report.

In preparation for implementation of ISES in February, the following types of training will be available free of charge to education agencies that need to report. The registration will be online. The web address for registration is http://www2.dpi.state.wi.us/workshops/workshop_locations.asp?event=L01.

Instructor-led On-site Presentations. On-site presentations are scheduled in Madison at the Department of Public Instruction; at CESA 9 in Tomahawk; at CESA 11 in Turtle Lake, at CESA 4 in West Salem; at CESA 7 in Green Bay; and at CESA 1 in Milwaukee.

Distance Education Network Presentations. There will be three Distance Education Network Presentations. They will be held at the following times:
Monday, February 7 from 3:45 - 6:45
Wednesday, February 9 from 3:45 - 6:45
Thursday, February 17 from 3:45 - 6:45

If any other school would like to be a site for a distance learning session, please contact Molly Koranda, Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, (608) 267-1071, or email molly.koranda@dpi.wi.gov.

Web Tutorials. Web tutorials will be available through the DPI web site as tools ISES users can access in addition to or as a refresher for On-site and Distance Education Network Presentations.

User Guides. These guides will be available in printed form at the on-site presentations and can be printed from the website for the Distance Education Network Presentations.

Training begins February 1. Both on-site and Distance Education Network Presentations will last approximately three hours and give participants an opportunity to interact with presenters. We expect each district will be represented by their local ISES administrator and up to one other staff member. There will be a limit to the number of participants per district and per session so total numbers don't interfere with opportunities for interaction.

See the ISES Training and Support Webpage at https://dpi.wi.gov/cst/data-collections/student/ises/training/ises for training agenda, on-site locations, dates, times, and registration instructions.
