About the Capital Science & Engineering Fair
The Capital Science & Engineering Fair was established to provide high school students from South Central Wisconsin (and beyond) the opportunity to showcase their research (grades 9-12 public, private, and home school are eligible). The 2025 Fair was held on March 1st at the Engineering Centers Buiding, UW-Madison (1550 Engineering Dr, Madison, WI 53706) - 2025 Flyer. The 2026 dates and details are to be determined. The fair inspires enthusiasm for science and engineering research among Wisconsin students. It provides a support system to assist students as they actively participate in science and engineering endeavors. Students can submit notice of interest in fall 2025; it is requested by Dec 15th, and registration for 2026 will be due Jan 15, 2026. Safety forms must be submitted by Feb 15.
Participants also compete for an opportunity to enter the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair and the Badger State Science & Engineering Fair (for which all participants may register). ISEF forms here. We had several Wisconsin students that went in 2024!
Support for how to complete the CSEF forms that connect to ISEF can be found in this video (from Karen Lindholm-Rynkiewicz in Muskego-Norway).
