Lessons from beyond Wisconsin

  • OpenSciEd - this national group will eventually have a full K-5 curriculum. Currently, there are a couple units at each grade in elementary (and a full curriculum in 6-8). They are all FREE and developed by a range of national experts. 
  • Lucas Foundation - they have a set of K-5 curriculum materials, Multiple Literacies in Project Based Learning, which are free (requires registration). Some of the grade 3-5 materials were developed and tested in Wisconsin! 
  • DPI's WISELearn Platform - includes Open Education Resources in science curated here in Wisconsin and beyond
  • NGSS@NSTA's Classroom Resources - you can select your grade level standards and find related resources and lessons on that standards page. 
  • Picture-Perfect Science Books* - This series of books includes elementary lessons following the 5E model that include fiction and non-fiction book connections. 
  • Inquiring Scientists, Inquiring Readers* - This book also includes elementary lessons that include fiction and non-fiction book connections. A sample chapter:
