Exhibit Instructions – Grievance Procedure (Section 504:34 CFR 104.7(b), Title IX: 34 CFR 106.8(b), Title II: 28 CFR 35.107(b))

The items from this exhibit will be reviewed but will not be retained by the DPI Review Team.

Purpose of this exhibit

The items in this exhibit allow the review team to see the ways in which nondiscrimination notices, policies, and procedures are being communicated to various groups within the district and the broader community as part of efforts to recruit students and employees or to influence students such as in their course selections and other activities.

The following brochure provides general information and guidance from the US Department of Education on the various federal nondiscrimination laws and the related notification requirements:

Items needing to be provided

Any catalogs, publications, brochures, or other written materials that communicate with/to groups or individuals for recruiting of students and employees within the district or community and that contain or address policies of nondiscrimination for Title VI, Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX, Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and Wisconsin Statute 118.13 and PI 9 accept those handbooks included in Exhibit A3.  Examples of exhibit items include:

  • Course catalogs/booklets for each middle and high school
  • Student recruitment and course planning materials (i.e. Career & Technical Education offerings, club and athletic recruiting)
  • Employee recruitment materials
