The kindergarten schedule tile within the School Directory Management Portal application asks public, private, and independent charter schools to select the following kindergarten schedule options when those schools offer kindergarten classes:

  • 4-Year-Old Kindergarten (schedule options)
  • 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Location
  • 5-Year-Old Kindergarten (schedule options)

USES: This data element is used to determine what each school building’s kindergarten schedule is. This data is aggregated with data from all of the other schools within an agency to help determine high grade and low grade for the agency.

Options for this category include:

FULL DAY FOUR-YEAR-OLD KINDERGARTEN: EIGHT OPTIONS

  • Five, full days a week (a full-day of instruction per child)
    • Five, full days a week + Outreach 87.5 hours of family outreach (F5-O)
  • Four, full days a week (a full-day of instruction per child)
    • Four, full days a week + Outreach 87.5 hours of family outreach (F4-O)
  • Three, full days a week (a full-day of instruction per child)
    • Three, full days a week + Outreach 87.5 hours of family outreach (F3-O)
  • Two, full days a week (a full-day of instruction per child)
    • Two, full days a week + Outreach 87.5 hours of family outreach (F2-O)

HALF-DAY FOUR-YEAR-OLD KINDERGARTEN: FOUR OPTIONS

  • Five, half days a week (a half-day of instruction per child)
    • Five, half days a week + Outreach 87.5 hours of family outreach (H5-O)
  • Four, half days a week (a half-day of instruction per child)
    • Four, half days a week + Outreach 87.5 hours of family outreach (H4-O)

OTHER FOUR-YEAR-OLD KINDERGARTEN: ONE OPTION

  • No four-year-old kindergarten is offered

PROGRAMMING ONLY IN THE PUBLIC SCHOOL BUILDING: ONE OPTION

  • K4 only takes place within the public school building.

  • Public School and Head Start

  • Public School and Child Care

  • Public School, Head Start, and Child Care

  • Public School, Private School, and Head Start

  • Public School, Private School, and Child Care

  • Public School, Private School, Child Care, and Head Start

COMMUNITY APPROACH (4KCA) ONLY: FIVE OPTIONS

  • Head Start

  • Child Care

  • Head Start and Child Care

  • Private School and Child Care

  • Private School and Head Start

Options for this category include:

  • ½ Day

  • Full Day

  • Both ½ Day and Full day
