District Library Media Specialist is actually three distinct data elements in WISEadmin Portal within the District Library Plan; however, they work together. These dates are provided from a dynamic, drop-down field in WISEadmin Portal.

District Library Media Specialist First Name: type in the first name of the public school/district Library Media Specialist.

District Library Media Specialist Last Name: type in the last name of the public school/district Library Media Specialist.

District Library Media Specialist Email: type in the professional/LEA-associated email address of the public school/district Library Media Specialist.

The District Library Plan is referenced in Wisconsin Administrative Code PI8.01(2)(h). For current library planning resources, visit the DPI Future Ready Libraries webpage, paying special attention to the Library Planning Infographic.

Starting with the 2023-24 school year, District Library Plan data elements will be collected within the WISEadmin Portal. Updates for the Last Modified version and the last Submitted version of the District Library Plan are marked with an auto-generated date-time stamp.

USES: Libraries with well-developed, long-range library plans, implemented with fidelity, effectively increase student achievement, provide equitable resources to all, and be a key collaborative element of district learning initiative.

 

 

FAQs, Details, and Points to Note

  1. What if the District Library Media Specialist is a position shared by more than one staff member? This can be a shared position. Currently there are only fields in WISEadmin to collect one person’s name and email address. In the event of a shared position, one staff member would be listed and the other would not.
