These values are set based on the parameters given from each of the schools within your district. This is done within the Public Schools tile by selecting the specific schools from the listing.

More details are available within each agency type user guide, located on the School Directory Management Portal: User Guide landing page.

USES: This data element is used to correctly identify grade levels taught within a school entered into the School Directory Admin portal, as well as the School Directory Public web application.

Low Grade

Low grade is the grade level available to the youngest students attending school.

  1. Public School District: Reports the lowest grade level available within the whole school district.
  2. Private School:

Reports the low grade in each school building. For example, an elementary school’s low grade might be K4, while a middle school’s low grade may be 6th grade.

NOTE: Private schools cannot provide PK as a low grade because PK only refers to students receiving services for an individual education plan (IEP).

High Grade

High grade is the grade level available to the oldest students to attend a specific school.

  1. Public School District: Reports the highest grade available within the whole school district.
  2. Private School:

Reports the highest grade level offered in each school building. For example, an elementary school’s high grade might be 5th grade, while a middle school’s high grade may be 8th grade.
