Staff/Mandatory Contacts: School Directory Management Portal
The Staff/Mandatory Contacts screen in the School Directory Management Portal contains a list of people within a local education agency (LEA) who participate in communication with the DPI. Required fields on this School Directory Management Portal screen are indicated with a red asterisk.
Mandatory Contacts hold specific roles and vary by agency type. These are provided in the FAQ below.
Component fields include:

DPI Contact Types: Types of contact persons assigned by the DPI. A list of all mandatory contact types is given in each agency's School Directory Management Portal user guide, under the "Staff Contacts Tile" section. They are also listed below.

Contact Type is a required field.

Local Title: The locally assigned title of the person listed as a Contact Type. For example, one LEA may use the local title of ‘Headmaster’, while another may refer to that same/similar position as ‘Building Principal’ at a different LEA.

First, Middle, Last Name, and Suffix: First and Last Name are required fields. Middle name and suffix are optional, to be used as they apply. Check for correct spelling. Whenever possible, please utilize full given names (i.e., Michael instead of Mike).

- Phone Number, Extension, and Email: Provide the specific phone number (with extension, as it may apply) and specific email address associated with each person listed as a Mandatory Contact. Check for correct spelling on the email address.

USES: This data element is used to correctly identify the appropriate point(s) of communication in the School Directory Management Portal, as well as the School Directory Public web application.

There are six different agency types that can access the School Directory Management Portal. Each type has specific required contacts. For more details, visit the School Directory Management Portal: User Guide landing page, and select the user guide for your agency type.
