Discipline Incident Identifier: Discipline
The Discipline Incident Identifier is a locally-assigned unique identifier (within the school or school district) to identify each specific incident or occurrence.
This data element is part of the Discipline Incident Reference endpoint.
The Discipline Incident Identifier is distinct from the auto-generated Ed-Fi Incident ID (i.e, the Discipline Incident ID).
The same identifier should be used to document the entire incident even if it included multiple offenses and multiple offenders. Associating, for a single student, multiple disciplinary actions (removals) that resulted from a single incident should be a priority.
The Discipline Incident Identifier is a required data element.
USES: This data element is critical in tracking an incident to the correct school where the incident occurred.
