CTE Department (Program Areas Type): Career Education

artifact

The CTE Department (Program Areas Type) represents represents one of the six Career and Technical Education departments. Each CTE course needs to be identified with the appropriate CTE Department. Some CTE courses can be can be taught by multiple CTE licensed teachers. CTE courses are used to compile the Civil Right compliance data required for Carl Perkins.

Program Area Type (CTE Department) is also collected for each CTE concentrator. This is an extra data element selected when identifying CTE concentrators. Program Area Type is pulled from the student - not from the course. It's submitted with CTE program information for CTE concentrators in 11th and/or 12th grade within a chosen pathway. Districts will continue to identify CTE concentrators on their end. CTE concentrators are used to complete the Consolidated Annual Report for Cark Perkins.

On the Courses download, DPI has identified which departments can teach what courses. This information is located in Column I (CTE Department).
