WISEdata Updates

WISEdata: 2024/25 “GET” Requests Now Available

Vendors/LEAs can now execute GET requests for 2024/25 school year data to flow into WISEdata Portal for Descriptors, Courses, and EdOrgs.

WISEdata: Data Quality Screen, Validation Message Summary Section

The Data Quality screen in the WISEdata Portal has ensured the functionality in the Validation Message Summary section, to align with the rearrangement of filters on the Validation Messages screen.

  • When users click the validation types under the horizontal bar graph, it will redirect them to the Validation Messages screen, filtering the validations for the type selected. For example, if a customer clicks Errors, the Validation Messages screen will filter the results to display only Errors but not Critical Errors or any Warnings.

WISEdata Portal: Validation Messages Filters Updated

The Validation Messages screen in the WISEdata Portal has revised available filters. The filters are now in two neat rows to provide clearer access to needed information:

  • Top row:
    • School Year
    • School Type
    • Schools
    • Message Type: Critical Error, Error, Warning (Ack), Warning (Unack)
  • Bottom Row:
    • WISEid
    • Message Code
    • Validation Category
    • Message Tags
    • Additionally, there are two checkboxes and the “Reset” button.
    • Snapshot Focused checkbox
    • WIP Bookmark Message checkbox

Ed-Fi Updates

Ed-Fi: Bug Fix

A new menu option was created to display a vendor subscription that has write on capabilities for the primary SIS but not for special education or discipline specialty vendors. This new option provides customers a more accurate option of Resource Access options on the Ed-Fi Credential application for LEA subscriptions.

Ed-Fi: Unused Subscription Notice

DPI’s Ed-Fi Credential application now has the capacity to inform LEAs of unused vendor subscriptions held by LEAs. These notifications appear as red text on the LEA’s Vendor Subscriptions (your vendors) screen.

  • Red text indicated in the Credentials column is accompanied with a date/time stamp of the last data push.
    • These indicators inform schools that these vendor subscriptions are not actively being used.
    • Either remove these subscriptions or activate in your SIS.
  • Red text in the school year Access columns indicates that the subscription has not been activated.
    • These subscriptions need to have credentials entered and verified.
    • Or, if the LEA no longer wants this vendor tool to send data to DPI, the LEA should unsubscribe.

WISEadmin Portal and Other WISE Applications

Latest Update: 6/11/2024

WISEadmin Portal Release Notes

WISEadmin Portal:

WISEadmin Portal: DPI Feedback

When LEAs submit their Districts Library Plans on WISEadmin Portal, the DPI staff who review these plans can leave feedback about the plan. However, that feedback didn’t always remain visible to the LEAs. Based on feedback from LEAs who would like that feedback to remain visible, this has changed, so that DPI feedback will remain visible on the District Library Plan screen even after their plan has been approved/returned. These informative notes provide details, observations, or suggestions to improve a plan that has been approved. These notes do not always necessitate a resubmission.

Additionally, when a district’s Library Plan is either approved or returned, an email notification will be sent to the LEA’s district library media specialist to keep them informed of this status.
