ACT Performance Level Descriptor Development Workshop
DPI is recruiting a diverse group of Wisconsin educators to update Performance Level Descriptors (PLDs) for the Wisconsin ACT assessment in English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, and Science. The Wisconsin ACT PLDs are statements that describe the specific knowledge and skills Wisconsin students typically demonstrate at each performance level (Developing, Approaching, Meeting, and Advanced) on the statewide spring ACT assessments as related to the Wisconsin Academic Standards.
A two-day online virtual workshop will be conducted by ACT in November. Eight applicants will be selected for each subject content area, for a total of 24 educators. DPI is recruiting a group of educators that would represent the diversity of state educators including English learner and special education teachers.
Logistics
- The PLD Workshop will be a virtual, two-day meeting from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily, November 13-14, 2024.
- Applicants must be available to participate BOTH days.
- Applicants must have a private space in which to participate.
- Applicants will be required to sign a Security and Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to participation.
- Substitute reimbursement of $150 per day available for participants ($300 total).
Technology Requirements
- Laptop or desktop device with microphone and video capabilities (tablets or smartphones are not acceptable for participation in the workshop).
- A strong and reliable internet connection.

- Submit resume to osamail@dpi.wi.gov within 24 hours of submitting application.
- Note: Applications submitted without a resume submission will be considered incomplete and will not be reviewed for participation.
