There are three components required for ACCESS for ELLs testing:
1. WIDA AMS
The WIDA AMS is a browser-based test administration suite. It should work on any modern OS with an up-to-date browser.
The WIDA AMS is the central portal for ACCESS for ELLs testing. It is used to download the other pieces of software, for training, and for test setup and administration.
2. DRC Insight
DRC Insight is the secure browser used by students to access the test. Hardware requirements differ depending on the platform (Windows, Chromebooks, etc.) but in general, a 1GHz processor and 1GB of both disk space and ram are required. Insight is available on most operating systems.
3. DRC TSM
The Testing Site Manager (TSM) is the caching server and test delivery platform. In general, a 1GHz processor, 20GB of disk space, and at least 1GB of ram are required.
ACCESS for ELLs is now an online test, and internet access is required. However, the TSM mitigates this somewhat, provided that student devices have enough local network bandwidth to communicate with the TSM.
