FY 2017 NSLP Equipment Assistance Grant - Announcement Released January 23, 2018
It’s time to start evaluating your equipment needs! USDA has released Memo SP 34-2017, regarding the Fiscal Year 2017 National School Lunch Program, Equipment Assistance Grant. USDA is projecting that Wisconsin will be allocated $348,063. The application period is January 23 - March 9, 2018.
Priority for this grant will be given to schools that have not received similar USDA equipment grants in the past and have 50% or higher free and reduced-price eligibility. Requested equipment must cost more than your School Food Authority’s (SFA) definition of capitalization threshold or $5,000, whichever is less.

FY 2016 NSLP Equipment Assistance Grant
The School Nutrition Team (SNT) received applications from 46 School Food Authorities, with requested equipment totaling over $700,000. As required by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), priority was given to schools with the highest percentage of students eligible for free and reduced priced meals that had not received a previous equipment grant through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 or the fiscal year (FY) 2010, 2014, or 2015 Agriculture Appropriations Acts. Congratulations to the 22 School Food Authorities selected for this grant!
