Overview
DPI-SNT has created various purchasing templates, which are optional to assist School Food Authorities (SFAs) in the procurement process. SFAs using these templates should review them with their local legal counsel.
Known Vendor Lists
These lists are a service for SFAs to assist with soliciting responsive bids or proposals. They do not imply certification or approval to do business under the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) or another Child Nutrition Program (CNP). No endorsement is made or implied by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI).
SFAs should contact the vendor to obtain information about their services, territory, price, and consider interviewing contacts on their client list. If you are a vendor and would like to be added to a list, or are currently on a list and need to make changes, email jessica.oele@dpi.wi.gov and lera.karns@dpi.wi.gov. Include contact name, phone, email, company address, and website if available.

Prime Vendor (Commercial Distributor)
A Prime Vendor, also known as a Commercial Distributor or Broadline Distributor, is a vendor that supplies the large majority of food, paper products, and chemicals that a SFA purchases.

Direct Diversion (USDA Foods Processing)
Direct Diversion is an option for SFAs that participate in the USDA Foods program. If purchasing, or having USDA Foods delivered through a prime vendor/commercial distributor, the SFA should include Direct Diversion or other USDA Foods within the product list.
