Each fall the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) holds training sessions for registered nurses new to the specialty practice area of school nursing. The goal is to help new school nurses in this transition by providing information and resources that can help make their first years more successful. This training is for those nurses who will be working for the first time in or with a school district. It is appropriate for school nurses who have worked in a school setting zero to three years.
Additionally, modules covering topics related to school health services are under development. These modules are targeted to school nurses. Future modules will target other school staff providing health services in school.
