As you know, Deputy State Superintendent, Dr. John Johnson shared a message regarding ACT 20 with district administrators in February 2024. Districts will likely be changing their reading curricula for the 2024-25 school year to meet the Act 20 requirements, and this impacts our students who require Accessible Educational Materials (AEM). We have encouraged our Teachers of the Blind and Visually Impaired (TVIs) to review the DPI Act 20 Frequently Asked Questions and to share their questions about Act 20 with LEAs and local curriculum directors.
The WCBVI Consultant team is responding to questions regarding the implementation of Act 20 as it concerns Wisconsin students who are blind and visually impaired or deafblind requiring AEM.
