In response to public interest on this topic, DPI and the SFS Team are releasing information on the September 2022 pupil count. Data for 2022 are being presented along with the 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 counts, as well as the changes between years, to provide appropriate context and reflect the multiple years of student membership that factor into school district revenue limits.
Summary data by sector (school districts, independent charter schools, and the four parental choice programs) are available with this morning's press release in the DPI News Room.
The SFS Team has compiled a detail file of data reported by school districts in the PI-1563 Pupil Count and PI-1804 Summer/Interim Session Reports. The Excel workbook includes:
- Headcounts (Step 1 of the PI-1563 Pupil Count - September) by district, with overall totals and breakdowns between 4K/preschool special education, kindergarten, and grades 1-12.
- Revenue limit FTE for 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, and 2022-23. These data reflect the three-year rolling average, 40 percent summer FTE adjustment, and newer independent charter school additions that go into revenue limit membership.
