2019-20 Transportation Report Opens May 11

Friday, May 8, 2020

The PI-1547 Pupil Transportation Report for 2019-20 will open on Monday, May 11, 2020. This report collects student ridership data in the “Regular School” and “Vocational Programs” categories. School districts and independent charter schools that provided free transportation to and from school in 2019-20 should submit their ridership data in order to receive state categorical aid for pupil transportation in 2020-21.

A few notes to remember:

  • Ridership data on transportation for summer and interim session courses is submitted through a different report, the PI-1547-SS, which will open in July.
  • Before entering data in the PI-1547 report, we recommend completing the “Transportation Aid Worksheet” Excel workbook posted to the Pupil Transportation Aid webpage.
  • Aid eligibility is based upon ridership counts in distance categories. School closures related to COVID-19 do not affect the eligibility of a student to be counted, if they were provided transportation before schools were closed. An LEA that was unable to hold a scheduled ridership count due to school closures should identify the best available alternative data source to determine their counts for 2019-20.

The PI-1547 Pupil Transportation Report is due on Friday, July 17, 2020. You can access it through the SAFR district portal under “Non-Financial Data” or on the “Status & Due Dates” screen.
