ESSA School-Level Reporting

Tuesday, February 20, 2024

The School-Level Reporting module is now active in the Wisconsin School Finance Portal (WiSFiP). Thank you for everyone’s patience as we have completed development to transition this report to utilize financial data submitted through WISEdata Finance. Due to the delay in opening this report, we have pushed back the due date of the report to Friday, March 8, 2024.

The module will automatically pull in and calculate district and school-level per-pupil expenditures based on cost category (state/local vs. federal expenditures) and enrollment. In order to calculate these costs, the module will collect data allowing DPI to associate elements of your local accounts to schools and program areas. The collection of this data will automate the process of completing this report, while also providing DPI with the information necessary to meet other federal reporting requirements around school-level expenditures without additional data collection.

As we continue to transition financial reporting away from manual entry to using WISEdata Finance data, we are prepared to encounter some specific scenarios with reporting that may require additional attention. In order to facilitate the completion of the report, the module does allow for manual modification of the calculated expenditure amounts if necessary.

Information on the ESSA School-Level Reporting requirements can be found on the ESSA School-Level Reporting – Financial Transparency page and technical assistance on completing the module is detailed in the WiSFiP – School-Level Reporting Module Guidance document. A walkthrough of the SLR module is covered in the WISEdata Finance and Financial Reporting podcast from February 13, 2024.

If you experience any technical issues or have additional questions about this reporting, please submit a WISEdata Finance help ticket through WISEsupport.
