Indirect Cost Rate Calculations for 2024-25

Indirect cost rates for school districts, CESAs and CCDEBs to be used with federal grants in 2024-25, which include carry-forward adjustments for all districts, have been determined and posted on our Indirect Cost Information page. Rates were calculated under DPI’s indirect cost plan for 2017-2022 which has been extended by the U.S. Department of Education through June 30, 2024.

Please note that the indirect cost rates shown on the indirect cost rate computation are preliminary only. Each LEA may choose to apply the fixed with carry-forward method for indirect costs. The preliminary rates may be adjusted by completing form PI-1161 – Indirect Cost Rate Adjustments. When complete, scan and submit the completed form to indirectcost@dpi.wi.gov. If the LEA has submitted the PI-1161 for 2024-25, the rates posted have been updated to include the adjustments.

Form PI-1161 also has a required “Certification by Agency Official” section to establish indirect cost rates. If the preliminary rate calculation for your LEA does not need adjustment—and you wish to have an official approval letter of your rate—sign and date form PI-1161 and submit it to indirectcost@dpi.wi.gov.

The PI-1161 form is due on June 28, 2024. If your LEA intends to submit the PI-1161 but has not done so, please submit as soon as possible.
