Now is a good time to check your school district calendar and confirm that school is scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2020, and that your district intends to take the pupil count that day. If school is not held that day, you will need to conduct the pupil count on an alternate date:
- If your district has a scheduled “no school” day on January 10, by law the alternate count date is the third weekday following the next school day in session. For example, if the next school day is Monday, January 13, then the alternate count date would be Thursday, January 16.
- Otherwise, if school is not held on January 10 due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances, you will need to request an alternate count date from the SFS Team.
In either case, contact us at dpifin@dpi.wi.gov or 608-267-9114 as soon as possible if your district needs an alternate count date. Be sure to include in your message the district, explanation, required or requested alternate date, and the contact person for us to respond to.
