WISE and Partner Support webpage reorganization has begun!

Web administrators have begun updating URLs and technical writers have begun reorganizing the left-side menus for our webpages. This project allows DPI to modernize our website and make finding content more intuitive. All previous URLs have permanent redirects so that you do not experience any broken links. Please fill out the Submit Feedback form if you need help finding content. Please attend the WISE User Group meetings to hear regular updates on and ask questions about this reorganization.

We moved content from WISEdash Help: School District Support onto WISEdash Public Portal.

We have updated the 2026 WISEdata Conference page. Registration opened on January 13th.

The link to the WISE User Group meetings for the upcoming semester is now available. Visit the updated WISE User Group Webinar page to add this event to your calendar.

WAMS Pages

All WAMS content has moved to the WISEhome Introduction page. We have removed the following pages:

  • WAMS: Detailed Information
  • Creating Your Wisconsin Access Management System (WAMS) Account
  • Updating WAMS Account When Changing Districts
  • WAMS ID Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Release Notes Pages

We removed the following pages:

  • WISE Application Historical Release Notes
  • WISEid and WISEstaff Historical Release Notes

We continue to maintain the current and archived Release Notes pages. Historical Release Notes are available upon request.

Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs)

We updated the KBA Validation Error 7469.

We removed the WISELearn button from the left side menu of the WISE section of DPI’s website because Partner Support does not support this application; it is not an option within a WISE help ticket. Educators can continue to access the WISELearn application and documentation from the Schools & Educators section of DPI’s website.

We created a data element page for Course Level Characteristic Descriptor, a new data element as of the 2025-26 school year. This data element describes the nature and difficulty of a course.

We made a video to walk you through the steps to Access Files from Teams Channels.

The slide deck and YouTube videos from the November 6th virtual trainings for December Snapshot are posted on the WISE Videos and Slides webpage. There is one for public schools and one for Choice schools.

You can now search for training materials on the WISE Training Search page.

KBAs for Validations (Errors and Warnings)

Validation Warning 7150, which was previously an error, is now a warning.

Partner Support Team pages and Other WISE Webpages

School Modification application user guides have minor updates.

Documentation about special education now uses the full phrase “special education,” only abbreviating this phrase where it directly quotes a WISE application (such as a filter or dashboard name). The URL for the About the Data: Special Education page also reflects this change: https://dpi.wi.gov/wisedash/about-data/special-education.

WISE Data Elements:

The Attendance data element page has updated information regarding expelled students who do not have special education services.

  • The Suspensions and the Expulsions sections of the Attendance data element page have updates, including a new subsection for expelled students receiving virtual instruction.

All WiSFiP data elements now note the user role needed to enter data in WiSFiP.

WISEdash Documentation

We updated the existing page WISEdash Help: Buttons and Icons Index.

We replaced the WISEdash Quick Start Guide with the above resources.

We updated the About the Data: Coursework page.

KBAs for Validations (Errors and Warnings)

Partner Support Team pages and Other WISE Webpages

The Discipline: Info, Help and FAQ page has updated information regarding expelled students who do not have special education services. Related pages now link to this information.

We created an Act 20 and WISE page, which explains how data flows to aimswebPlus and how to use WISEdata Portal’s Assessment Roster screen to troubleshoot issues.

We created the Access Files or Folders DPI Shares with You page to walk users through Microsoft’s verification steps.

WISE Data Elements:

Prior to the 2025-26 school year, the Reason Exited Special Education data element described why a student’s special education record has an end date. Starting in the 2025-26 school year, the Special Education Reason Exited Descriptor data element collects this information. The Special Education Reason Exited Descriptor data element page reflects this change.

The Shortened Weekly Hours Compared to Peers data element page (as part of a special education Shortened School Day) now contains a new note regarding Warning 7500. Please refer to the data element page and the Knowledge Base Article (KBA) for Warning 7500 to understand when to correct the data and when to acknowledge the warning.

WISE Website and Partner Support Pages

Partner Support URL Changes:

A few months ago, the previously named Customer Services team announced our name change to Partner Support. This has resulted in reorganization and cleanup of our website and file system. Therefore, some files’ URLs have changed or will change. This only affects you if you bookmark URLs for files.

At the end of this reorganization, the URLs for all webpages that formerly used the Customer Services Team abbreviation “/cst/” will have the Partner Support abbreviation “/ps/.” If you notice a broken link, please either submit feedback on that webpage or submit a Help Ticket.

Data Errata Webpage:

All Data Errata letters are now in new file folders with new URLs.

WISEstaff and WISEid User Guides:

The WISEstaff User Guide and the WISEid User Guide have simplified links to each section. This change shortens the URLs.

Slides and videos from the October 7th WISEstaff Preliminary Certification training are now in the WISEstaff Preliminary Certification Training section of the WISEtraining: Slides and Videos page.

The WISEtraining: Slides and Videos page now has Q&A transcripts, videos, and slide decks from the New User Training (8/19) and Back to School Kickoff (8/21).

The September 2025 WISE Insights newsletter is now available.

Links to previously used Google-based files (such as Google Docs and Sheets) that are now saved as Microsoft-based files (such as Microsoft Word and Excel) are updated. If you had bookmarked a link to a Google-based file that no longer appears active or up to date, visit the appropriate DPI site for the updated link.

The WISEstaff Data Collection page now shows the timeline and reporting information for the 2025-26 academic year. The WISE Events Calendar displays numerous upcoming events, including two this week:

  • 8/21: WISE Back to School Kickoff

The August 2025 WISE Insights Newsletter is now available. A special edition of the August 2025 WISE Insights Newsletter is also available. It includes:

  • back-to-school communications
  • a job opening at DPI
  • a call for new members to join the WISEdash Advisory Group

The Partner Support (formerly known as Customer Service) team name has been updated throughout our content pages.

WISE: WISE Insights Newsletter, July Editions

The WISE Insights Newsletter sent three items in the month of July: the regular newsletter along with two special editions announcing data releases to WISEdash Public Portal. Visit the WISE Insights Newsletter landing page to read all of the articles online, and to subscribe!
